MedPeds Gains National Award
Patient Centered Medical Home Award
MedPeds in Laurel has been awarded the highest level recognition available by the NCQA for Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. In Maryland, only a few practices have achieved the Level III PCMH Award. We are proud of this accomplishment. MedPeds Welcomes Our Newest Physician
Welcome Dr. Johnson-Weaver
Dr. Johnson-Weaver began with MedPeds in January 2009 and is an experienced Family Practice physician with a special interest in Pediatrics. She is a graduate of Princeton University, attended Temple University School of Medicine and trained in the prestigious Chestnut Hill Family Practice Residency. Dr Johnson-Weaver has worked for three years at a large group practice in Delaware with a full variety of age groups from newborns to the elderly. She has a lot of Spanish speaking patients in her current practice in Wilmington. She brings a combination of energy and people skills that we believe will make her another popular physician in our successful primary care practice.
MedPeds Gets National NCQA Award
Three years running
MedPeds has the great honor of being a recipient of the NCQA Quality Care Award. Physician Practice Connections is the NCQA National award recognizing primary care practices that use information to systematically enhance patient care. Prior to 2006, only 21 primary care practices in Maryland had ever been awarded this national recognition. We are so proud to announce that MedPeds is the only newly-awarded practice in the entire state of Maryland. NCQA sets national standards for Quality of Care. Office Renovations Are Complete
MedPeds offices have a new look
The expansion and redesign of our physician's practice office spaces on the first and fourth floors are now complete. We now have even more room to provide our patients with a more pleasant and efficient environment. In addition to adding additional exam rooms and lab areas, we replaced our linoleum tile flooring with all new wood floors for a more warm and comfortable atmosphere. We are excited about the changes and hope that you enjoy them as much as we do.
One of the benefits of the renovation is that we can now offer blood draw specimens for our patients right in our first floor offices. We are now using Quest Diagnostics to collect and process blood draw specimens although we are also continuing to use LabCorp as well.
